Heidi M. Schaeffer, M.D., is a professor of medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and medical director of the Adult Solid Organ Transplant Center. She played a key role in the growth of Vanderbilt’s kidney transplant program, and her research includes numerous pharmaceutical clinical trials for kidney disease.
