Elaine Shelton, Ph.D., is assistant professor of pediatrics and pharmacology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Shelton’s current work focuses on identifying biomarkers for patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). She is working to develop ductus arteriosus-specific therapies, and studying genetic variations that contribute to characteristics of the ductus arteriosus, toward a personalized medicine approach to PDA management in preterm infants. She is also interested in understanding the role of lymphatic vessels in renal and cardiovascular disease.
