Kerri Cavanaugh, M.D., M.H.S., is an associate professor in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is also director of the Vanderbilt Center for Effective Health Communication. Her research focuses on strategies to promote successful patient, family and clinician engagement to improve health literacy and foster shared decision-making.
