Michael Rutledge DeBaun, M.D., MPH, is the J.C. Peterson Chair in Pediatrics , professor of pediatrics and medicine, vice chair for Clinical and Translational Research, and director of the Vanderbilt-Meharry Center for Excellence in Sickle Cell Disease at Vanderbilt University. His research focuses on advancing the understanding of strokes in children and adults with SCD and prevention of initial and recurrent strokes among SCD patients of all ages in high- and low-middle-income countries.
