Karen Joos, M.D., Ph.D., is the Joseph and Barbara Ellis Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the Vanderbilt Eye Institute, a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and a faculty researcher with Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering, the Vanderbilt Biophotonics Center, and Vanderbilt Vision Research Center. She investigates biophotonic strategies including OCT for improving therapeutic interventions and molecular changes in early glaucoma. Clinically, she specializes in the management of advanced glaucomatous diseases, including the medical, laser and surgical treatment of glaucoma.
