Margaret Buxton, C.N.M., D.N.P., is clinical director of Baby+Company, a freestanding birthing center within Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She is a passionate advocate of the birth center model of care, which puts women and their families first and provides a caring environment conducive to a safe, healthy birth.
